The 'Mega Rule' formalizes industry standards to ensure best practices are followed regarding construction, operations/maintenance and abandonment of gas and liquids infrastructure.

Develop your PHMSA compliance plan now.

The problem

The 2019 PHMSA (Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration) 'Mega Rule' came into effect in the middle of a global pandemic, and many employers were focused on retaining their people in challenging and often remote working environments. Conducting a gap analysis to understand the state of their pipeline records became a low priority.

The compliance period has ended and the regulations are now fully enforceable – with many existing pipeline records not meeting the traceable, verifiable, and complete requirements.

The solution

Although there may be some deferrals and delays in enforcement, it’s become critical for pipeline operators to develop a plan to ensure compliance.

Records need to substantiate the MAOP (Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure), and be traceable, verifiable and complete. These include pressure test records or material property records (mechanical properties) that verify the MAOP is appropriate for the class location.

In this webinar, we will review some of the top considerations for your PHMSA compliance plan for the coming months and beyond. We'll show how you can identify data gaps, implement data management tools and develop a successful pipeline integrity management plan.

You’ll learn how to:

AI

Identify gaps in pipeline records and or procedures

Implement integrated data management and risk ranking procedures

Reconfirm your MAOP (Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure) and verify material properties

Who should attend

The PHMSA 'Mega Rule' applies to US pipelines, however, this training course is relevant to all pipeline owners, pipeline operators or regulated pipelines, pipeline integrity managers, pipeline engineers, compliance support auditors, and anyone responsible for dealing with safety and pipeline integrity management of gas and/or liquid onshore pipelines.
