Learn about the latest methods and solutions to avoid vibration and create safer and more efficient piping designs.
Vibration-induced fatigue is one of the most common causes of equipment and piping failures, leading to safety risks, production losses and fugitive emissions.
The forces that drive vibration can be challenging to affect directly, so common industry practice is to manage the dynamic flexibility instead, eg, by changing the stiffness, mass or damping of the system.
This course will talk through different methods and products capable of changing the flexibility and therefore reduce the vibration in the system.
We'll present solutions to influence the flexibility of a system and provide case studies and videos of real pipes and supports in vibratory action.
You’ll learn how to:
Understand how mass, stiffness, and damping each contribute to the dynamic flexibility
Reduce vibration by altering flexibility
Identify products that can mitigate vibration and help you create better piping designs
Who should attend
This training course is relevant to piping designers, pipe stress engineers and anyone responsible for dealing with vibration in piping systems.
Our asset integrity and reliability solutions are designed by engineers for engineers, fuelled by our deep understanding of design, operational and maintenance challenges.
